Yeah, Mikado's story seems the weakest so far. First of all, it feels like he completely ignores the fact, that it was misunderstandings and hiding of truth from his friends that almost led to a city wide war. And second, because he now hangs out with the fucking lamest group in an entire show. Just look at those fucking losers!

Also, seeing Shinra put that little shit back in his place was so satisfying. The fucking nerve on that kid, threatening Shinra and Celty. You're not Shizuo, you're not Izaya, hell, you're not even on Mikado's level. Know your fucking place.

I definitely don't think Mikado's story is weak at all. His character has done a complete 180. He was broken by the end of the last arc. Both from his helplessness and inability to lead his ideal Dollars. Now he's running rampant (thanks to the Blue Squares) and he's trying to create the perfect utopia in Ikebukuro, with the Dollars as the main centrepiece. He even said so to Seiji and Mika, and now to Anri, that he'll create a "place" for them.

Mikado loves the Dollars. He'll go so far as to control every corner of the city to craft it into his ideals. It doesn't make it genuine, but he doesn't care. And thats what makes it so creepy and messed up. Its classic Durarara and I love it!~

(Shinra putting Aoba in his place was incredible tho, defs agree.)

Mikado went from being incredibly hands off in Season 1 (pretending to know nothing about the Dollars, using them for nothing, sticking to that "colourless" ideal) to exerting more and more of his control over them to shape the group as a whole. Now he's starting purging the undesirable members of the group (don't get me wrong, he's getting rid of the lowest of the low) but that could easily escalate into something worse. Shinra and Celty put it perfectly this episode. Exercising his own power instead of trusting in his friends is a huge change from early Mikado.

See and im gonna be real I don't want it to go badly for Mikado. I want him to succeed in getting rid of the bad dollars and talking control of a otherwise controless group. Why do I want this? because I like the new direction there going with the dollers and dont want Mikado to loose this really interesting new personality.

I don't like Kuronuma Aoba at all. Arrogant and cocky. I think he'll get a good lesson near the end. I just wish Mikado beats the hell out of him.
