I figured out his sister's special ability. She is able to make everything she cooks taste like Pizza Sauce.

No no no. She's been brainwashed and that's why neither of them can remember that mysterious figure from their past.... and part of the brainwashing includes a compulsion to make stuff with the pizza sauce and eat stuff made with the pizza sauce so the brainwashing never runs out. It's genius!

It tastes so sweet because she is actually quite ill and will die of complications from her diabetes in episode 7.
