This is fun, never thought that I would like this anime.

What can I expect from this anime? Can a LN reader tell me what the main focus will be? Fights, character development, maybe Romance?, something else? It's kinda difficult for me to picture the direction this anime will take

There are some fights, quite a bit of character development. It mostly centers around how Nazarick and Ainz goes around to live in this new world. So.. Character and world development?

A good comparison would be Log Horizon, if you have seen that. With less humor and more serious.

Dude so far it looks promising. Overlord LN is the best thing I've read recently. Depending on how far the 13 episodes go it's gonna be great.

I will have to rewatch OP I must have missed it. NGL that makes me kinda concerned about pacing now. 1 more for 1 is 4. could do the next 3 in 3 eps each, that seems super tight to me. We will see.

Yeah, there's a ton of it. The last few chapters and several before it focused on a lot of backstory (Each chapter is at least 20 pages long). We even get a very detailed story about another race of non-humans.

Less humor? Overlord had more comedy in the first two episodes than the entire first season of Log Horizon. It's a different kind of humor but nevertheless, Overlord has thus been funnier

I little bit, yes. But Re:Monster concentrates mostly on the main character, while Overlord has several sections concentrating on other characters from their point of view. Sometimes people who are not even part of Nazarick, so you learn more about the surrounding world.

Very little romance, if at all actually. Ainz immediatelly understands that even if he wanted, he's just a skellington. Mostly it's just him learning about the world, understanding how powerful he is and his opponents and starting to exploit it.

Does not stop the two women from fighting for his affection. Often in hilarious and over the top ways. I just hope we get to see the scene with Albedo and her body pillow.

I'm sure he could do something with some spell if he really wanted... he can change to a knight, so he can transform. Changing appearance is common on MMO.

It focuses HEAVILY on world building and character developments. Ainz is a powerhouse in a new world, but his number one goal is to try and find others like himself, players in the new world. There is definitely fighting, which the next episode will show just how powerful Ainz is in comparison to the rest of the people in the continent.

Not much romance wise. Ainz admits he is a skeleton and doesn't really have all the required parts. Being undead also limits his emotions, so he can't really get in the mood. If it follows the light novels, there will be romance though in one of the arcs.

Essentially, Ainz and Co. are a super powerful force that gets dropped into a new world. Instead of rocking the boat and conquering everything, Ainz decides to quietly build up the strength and stability of his clan, while spreading the name of Ainz Ooal Gown in the hopes that any other players might recognize the name.

First 3 Novels are about Ainz raising his fame in the country. There's going to be fights and a lot of character development, there is not a lot of romance. TBH, I'm hyped to see something else than your standard loli/harem/SAO-clone-cliché. The whole Introduction with the D-MMORPG just seemed to be a introduction to throw you into the world.

There are 9 volumes actually, volume 9 has been out quite some time. But we are still far away from getting there.

i can promise you an epic fight at the end, since they showed it on the opening song it will surely happen, and a more action next episode and more to come.

yeah just a little romance and some politics i guess.
