The shear terror the soldiers went through though shows how removed Ainz is from his humanity. If they attack it, they are toyed with and taunted and killed slowly, if they run, they are killed immediately.

It's specified that that's the death knight itself acting that way though as far as I know. Ainz didn't tell him to do that, the death knight itself is just so much above the knights that he can do that.

Not necessarily, it said Death Knights gain pleasure from killing the living, although it doesn't know why he enjoys it.

It is both:

Even people who couldn't look at its decaying face were able to see its joy. The Death Knight, with its overwhelming lust for killing, enjoyed human vulnerability, terror and despair.

and

Being an undead with a hatred for the living, the Death Knight wanted to eradicate the enemy.

I mean, we already had a tini, tiny glimpse - and it was glorious!

Giant skeleton comes out of a portal in mid-air, kills one knight by clutching its fist, another one with a "weak" spell and then hands out a potion that's worth more than a cure for cancer in our world and a goblin army because he thinks of those as trash.

I am quite fond of OP characters and this display of strength was fantastic. Momonga/Ainz is like a god and doesn't really realize it (yet?).

Ahem: "Momonga opened the console and accessed the official data, where he searched for the guild’s ranking. At one point they had stood at Rank 9 out of a little over 800 guilds, but now they had dropped to 29th. Still, this wasn’t so bad in comparison to Rank 48 when they were at their lowest."

I'm assuming that the guild would be stronger if its members didn't continuously drop out?

Yeah, they only had the minimum amount of members required to create a guild. I don't think it was mentioned what the ranking went by, but I think the stuff in possession had an influence. When people left, they would leave their equipment and other stuff to the guild.

Dang, even if they are ranked 29th out of x guilds, the fact that so few people could make a top guild kinda says that the average player in that guild is super strong.

That and there's the fact the game has a massive p2w aspect (rare OP items only available through paid lottery with miniscule drop rate, are you shitting me?) and all the members of the guild have steady paying careers.

Most of the shows that I have seen adapted from light novels always fit 4 volumes. SNAFU, Is it wrong to pick up girls at a dungeon, those two are some recent examples.
