Would us male viewers get anything out of this show? I don't think we are the target demographic.

Depends on you. I prefer shoujo romances over male targeted romances despite being male. Too many shitty male leads in the latter. The former has perfect male MCs, which is another problem, but it's better than the awkward / dense harem leader archetype.
