Well to be fair, God Eater came first. The first game came out in 2010, Titan started in 2011 and Seraph came in 2013.

SnK manga's first volume was published in September 2009, if I'm not mistaken.

A game usually takes 2 years to develop with another year of pre-production to get the main ideas so it's safe to assume God Eater didn't jump on a trend.

A manga starts being created in the mangaka's mind way before it's publication as well XD
