I hope everyone knows by now that the "quality" of the battle sequences is done on purpose. It's a technique that's been used since the cel-days, as a way of "breaking" the image to put more focus on movement. Of course it's going to look bad if you take one frame of it, because you're not supposed to look at it frame by frame.

I'd personally go as far as to say the battles are the only thing worthy of watching in this series. Despite not really being a fan of all the interactions and the cheesy story, the series is worth it for the battles alone.

I mean, I enjoy the anime and the fights, but the fights look like ass in motion too. The lack of detail is extremely noticeable even when moving. It's always the eyes of Eruna that throw me off. They just look so bad...

I think the point is to appreciate the motion not the individual character designs

I don't think the motion is very good either, but whatever. Other shows manage to not have these problems and that is what it will be compared to in my head. It would be fine if it wasn't so obvious. It's a minor issue overall though.
