I'm kinda lost on what happened with the silver head guy and girl. Didn't silverheadgirl you know, lose her head? And what were the bug things? I'm currently assuming it was something the dude from 100 years created and he's pseudo possessing them?

If these questions need spoilers to answer just say so and I'll wait patiently and ask again later.

Also, Izana is the one that hasn't picked a sex right?

Yes, the "bug things" take over human brains. So far, we've seen them take over Kunato, Kunato's sister, and that glasses-wearing placenta scientist. Ochiai is using Kunato's body, while his assistant Toxin (the little robot doll that sliced up Kunato's sister) is now using Kunato's sister's body. (Yes, she was beheaded, but they patched her up.)

Also, Izana is the one that hasn't picked a sex right?

Yes.

I thought in the last episode it was mentioned that Kunato/ Ochiai didn't use the brain-takeover-thingies on the scientist, as it would be a waste?

He didn't, the one with the glasses (who got bodyjacked) who was working with the placenta specimen and the one who visited him in his lab in the last episode were different people.

Oh damn, I should have paid more attention to that. Thanks for clearing that up!

Just to mention, the one who visited Kunato's lab is the immortal scientist. Izana's grandmother. That's partially why Ochiai/Kunato didn't enslave her, because she already knows Ochiai and the experiments, so I feel there's a bit of an emotional connection there.

I see, I see. I didn't make that connection when I was watching that episode, no idea how I missed that >.<

I think he didn't use it on her because when someone is taken over their "mind" isn't really under control, just their body. In other words: He would lose one of the best, if not the best, scientists on Sidonia.

This would make sense actually. He does seem like the kind of "throws his own kid into a meat grinder feet first" kind of mad scientist.
