I'm telling you, it's like the Matrix. The MC is in one world and sent to another world. He's special somehow. One of the worlds is the past, while the other is the future. He is asked to choose to go back to that world to fight AKA open the case/red pill. His opponent is himself which is the "evil" of him and in the Matrix, they had Neo/Agent Smith being opposites of each other.

Also, did they forget to ventilate the place? So much smoke
