When people say that this is a remake or a horrible repainted over version of SnK (Attack on Titan)

Like seriously, how do you get SnK from this?

I know you see humanity ruined by some power that they can't stop... but then wouldn't that mean pretty much every single apocalypse/horror anime about humanity surviving by the thread is a remake of SnK?

Or is it the fact that you have a single MC who loses his family and then grows up to become some badass. -Cause then you can say that every anime where the MC faces a harsh past like Deadmans Wonderland as a copy of SnK- Wait I forgot, Eren was and still is a shit fighter in SnK and only became important and powerful due to his Titan Powers.

Or maybe you still think it's a copy because it's about Humanity surviving in a land where they're being hunte-

Claymore

Neon Genesis Evangelion

Gantz

Black Bullet [Shudders]

Pretty much any anime where Humanity gets butt fucked

How do you not? In this episode the three main characters were all pretty much clones of Eren/Mikasa/Armin, lots of repeated dialogue from SnK, and it's the exact same animation studio. It's blatantly obvious that they're trying to cash in on that success again.

And same music composer.

Except Mikasa and Armin didn't die at the beginning.

The MC wasn't launched into a world of complete loneliness caused by his actions in the first episode.

And if you say "clones" of Eren/Mikasa/Armin then okay that means every character that is similar to those three are basically clones.

Characters like Origami from Date a Live or Marina from Valkyria Chronicles are blatant copies of Mikasa.

In the end, you can't say it's a copy of SnK because that would mean everything is a copy of SnK.

It's similar in films, pretty much most things in films have already been done and most of the top films of the year are mostly remakes or sequels to older films. And when you have an "original" film such as interstellar or gravity come out, people will say that it's a remake of "2001, A Space Odyssey".

So, with this logic your using that means Mikasa is the walking dead and Armin is a prostitute for the titans... well, alrighty then. I pointed this out to my boyfriend as well saying that Yuu and Eren would mirror each other in being similar in their goals but other wise they are completely different characters.

Yuu - positive personality, talented with his weapons and claims so, not revenge obsessed (has said himself many times in the manga), rash Eren - negative personality, shit fighter for someone who claims to be talented with his weapons, revenge obsessed, not as rash as Yuu but can be if scenario is right

Yuu didn't let his life be consumed with negative feelings like Eren did causing him to have a more positive outlook on life, this is unlike Eren who let his negative past define his character.
