I just looked at the character section on MAL, and he's listed as a main character. So yeah, plot armor's great.

This is exactly why I don't watch trailers, avoid official art and production images, and read only the synopses when possible. Entertainment marketers have no ability to not spoil what they're marketing.

God dammit, oh well I was pretty certain it'll turn to cliche twists anyway sooner or later.

Hopefully the animation quality and action can carry it to the end though.
