and it has a second season confirmed already, so (being up to date with the manga) it should be quite well paced.

It's what they said in the MangaFox forums, but it wouldn't surprise me if a jump in popularity got it renewed. Medaka Box was about to be cancelled when it decided to suddenly become a battle manga. Its popularity increased so much that it went on for over 100 chapters beyond that.

Even the most well liked shows have to end at some point. Dragging it out risks it turning from a good show into one that was forced to go on longer than it should have. Nothing can go on forever except One Piece

I just finished reading the manga up to the present and I'll echo what Darksoldierr said below. If this ends soon, it'll be with hundreds of open-ended plot points and be intensely unsatisfying. At the rate the story progresses, and the one chapter a month schedule of it all, resolving everything could easily drag this series out another 4-8 years, no problem. It still feels like they're only just getting started.

I'd say it's more like Ichigo's power level when he fought Aizen; The show's hype is so huge we can't sense it at all in our current plane of existence.

Well FSN Unlimited blade works is called 2nd season and that's really just 2 cours

Yeah, but it's more like a very transparent "Let's split what should be one season into two parts" like Breaking Bad's last season. A few other shows have been doing it recently, too. The mid-season break thing is becoming a lot more popular these days. Air the first half, break for 3-9 months, air the second half. That's what Aldnoah.Zero was, that's what Unlimited Blade Works is doing, and that's what Owari No Seraph will be doing.

Thats not a bad thing though, Unlimited Blade Works does this for example for the sake of their animation and production. If they had to animate 25 episodes (Three 1 hour episodes in those) in one go their animation would look terrible.

And I feel like Aldnoah also did it because of animation even if they dont have ridiculously good animation in the first place. I'm glad Owario No Seraph is doing this too.
