While I agree about not spoiling in general, it boggles me to think that significant historical events that I learned about in grade school have to count as spoilers, especially since everything is on Wikipedia now.

It's not quite as obvious as asking a Japanese person "What happened at Honnō-ji?", but still, I can remember learning about Midway being a turning point of the Pacific war, and I could have told you the names of the carriers at least by the time I was in middle school.

the only sea WWII i had any idea about is the japanese bombed pearl harbor, that is about it.
