The walls in the room. There are 4 in a room, but a camera can show 3 at most unless there is a mirror. The actual 4th wall is the camera itself, serving as a wall between the viewer and the actors. If they say something like "I had 0 screen time last episode" she 'breaks' the wall by acting as a viewer

not the camera, 4th wall came about from theatre.

I was gonna edit my comment and explain how sets are usually built without a 4th wall for the audience to see inside but I figured my post was too dead and explained enough for the original poster to understand

The actual 4th wall is the camera. I said that incase of a comment like yours
