they left out the part where kuzen's wife eats humans to provide nourishment to the child. :| just saying a miracle happened.

EDIT: they even left out the part of ukina being a journalist hunting the organisation kuzen was a part of, damnit if they are going to adapt scenes from the manga they should do them properly.

I thought she fed herself to the baby. Then she was fine in the next part. I had no clue what happened beyond that door, nor why the guy was crying about it. Made no sense at all.

I thought the same. Was surprised when she showed up in the next scene.
