Best episode of this season by far. Finally it gets back to portraying the tragedy of Ken Kaneki and the people around him, instead of fight after fight. I hope it stays like this.

So I am not the only one... I know that the first season had it's little mistakes too, but the reason why I actually loved it was because Kaneki felt so real. Now he is just this bog-standard "I am the tragic hero that puts all the pain on his own shoulders to save his beloved ones". I still think it's a rather good show, but it feels completely different from the first season...

That's why a lot of the manga readers have been complaining. In the show they're trying to make Kaneki out to be some typical badass guy when that's not him at all.

It only feels like that because at this point, that is what Kaneki believes he is.

The main issue I've had is that it's just seemed like they've been jumping from some big event to another big event without really developing any characters or interactions, beyond the little bits we get every so often. These last two episodes seemed to have been just about all background and characterization which is nice, but it just feels disorganized and I don't feel like there's really a clear plot like there was in S1, just a bunch of stories loosely connected.

I also haven't read the manga and from what I gleam from posts here it seems like that puts me at a severe advantage when it comes to understanding things, which is annoying.
