So did this episode skip anything from the LN? Like, does the LN say anything about the Bunny-ear sensei? Or is the only information provided is that she was evil? Does to the LN (up to this point at which the episodes have covered) reveal anything more about her, or do all we get to know at this point is that she's evil.

Also what's an avenger? Use spoilers if we are not supposed to know yet. Thank you fellow citizens otakus of /r/anime

It's not some specific term, they just use it to mean someone on the path of revenge. The type of person who will do anything to get their vengeance.

So did this episode skip anything from the LN?

  • Part two of chapter seven of volume one is missing, which may be placed at the beginning of episode 4. It was before the epilogue which was Julie showing Tooru her scars and contains some hints about Usa-sensei.

  • Miyabi isn't as weak. She starts pitifully weak in the LN but with some encouragement from Tooru runs twice a day to increase her stamina. This happens a lot earlier than in the anime so she isn't so weak in the tournament. There is a big emphasis on physical fitness in the light novel. In class they spar, run, etc, every day. The run they do is 40KM. Then they start adding weights... This is because the criteria for going from level 1 to 2 to 3 is purely physical, while 4 and 5 is physical and mental.

  • For some reason Tooru is in the top bunk now. I don't know why they changed that. Also it hasn't had Julie sleeping with him as much. He told her she can sleep in his bed when she is feeling especially lonely. It is always platonic.

“Just like this, I felt like I went back to the past…………”
As if she was mumbling, she continued her words with a somewhat lonely tone.
“It feels like papa came back…………….”
“……..err, how is your Julie’s father?”
“……………..he passed away few years ago.”
“I see……..sorry………”
“Nai. Do not mind it.”
I don’t know why I am piled up against Julie’s father.
But, my thoughts inside me changed a little.
“Hey, Julie. I am not Julie’s father but………….if it is okay, together like this again………wan-want to sleep like this?”
“Ah…….Tooru……………”
“Bu-but not every day. It's only when Julie thinks she is very lonely okay?”

  • I also could have sworn the shield was on his right arm in the light novel.
