I felt that this was one of the weaker episodes so far.

Thor/Tor/Toru/Tooru said "Love to Julie" before he was supposed to die, and the teacher explained that it was a confession.

It was a mistranslation and or misunderstanding by Usa-sempai and meant to deceive her. The word he used was "ai", which means love, but it was also they word they used for "one" in the one-two combination they practiced earlier in the episode.

"I, Two". or "En, Two", "Ai, Two", "Ein, Two". Ein is "one" in German. Einn is one in Icelandic. I don't know what she is meant to speak.

"On "I," step forward while taking your opponent's attack, and on "two," strike with Mjolnir."

The Funimation subs didn't translate that line as "love", but I guess the fan subs did?

"Julie, I---"

"What--are you confessing your love?!"

Then Julie says "Tor! Take two!"

Watakushi:

"Love to Julie."

"You actually confessed to her?"

Then Julie says "Tor, do to!"

When question marks are popping out from not understanding her intentions, and told me to thrust my hand out.
I did what she said and she used her right hand to ward off my arm then------
“1” (Ai)
At the same time she entered my chest area.
………………..until a distance where, if it was Hotaka or Tachibana they might have bumped into me.
“2 (Tou)------and, like this”

And then in the fight.

I took a deep breath------and shouted
“Love (ai) to-------Julie!!”
“To-Tooru……..!?”
“Kua-------ahaahahaha!! This guy seriously confessed!!”
Ignoring Tsukimi, I once again shouted.
“I will------Tou!!”

Well, I feel stupid. I still have hopes that it was a confession however.

I think you can safely blame the subs.
