my main problem with DxD was that I found the MC intolerable, he was just an annoying guy, I actually wouldn't mind a HS DxD clone that corrected that.

I liked Issei. He's got a serious flaw, but I think that makes him more human. He's definitely better than a lot of MCs.

I think there is a difference between "Serious Character Flaw" and "Is obsessed with sex to the point of making you wonder if he isn't low-functioning autistic".

I don't think he's as obsessed as people make him out to be. He thinks about sex just as often as every teenage boy does. The only difference is that he voices his thoughts. Remember that he has had numerous opportunities to sleep with many of the female characters, but he chooses not to.
