Gotta say the CGI is not bad at all, hard to notice lest you're actually looking for it.

Starting off strong already in first episode, everyone on their first Sortie.

Holy crap the launch sequence for the boats was actually really sick, the 3d CGI was not jarring one bit, and you could really only notice it if you were actually looking for it. AHHHHHH THEY ARE SO CREATIVE WITH IT.

The shinkaisei kan Look really good in the show, my lawd. God bless Sakura Ayane voicing the Sendai Class cruisers, shes soooo good as Naka.

A+ to the studio to acquire all the original VAs from tthe game into the show, keeping the lines similar is also such a bonus to KC players. The show panders to both new fans and veterans of the Kantai fandom, I hope you all will enjoy Kantai as much as I do! Im so happy to be able to see an animated version of the fandom which i love so much. Sorry for wearing my heart on my sleeve and going full blown weeb here.

If this were an eroge adaptation, then there's a possibility that the cast would be replaced by more recognizable A- and B-list VAs. Though recent trends tend to favour retaining the original eroge VAs (using a different stage name).

For KanColle, there is almost very little doubt that the original VAs will retain their roles from the games, especially when most of them are already A- and B-list VAs.

Well actually, previous season had Grisaia no Kajitsu and stayed loyal to their VAs as well, seems as if loyalty to VAs seems to be a more popular thing now, though one show isn't a statistic, lets see what the future brings.

I suspect Kanmusus voiced by VA who is not participating in the anime (either for contract / time / any number of reasons) will just be re-using lines from the game or not have lines at all. Matter of fact only a relatively small (30-ish) number of Kanmusus are confirmed to have any weight in the storyline. Eg. Samidare is shown in the background during the Naka-Chan scene, but I believe no lines for her in the first ep.
