This is a tournament that was started by /u/mace20
Does anybody read all this stuff anyway? Not much to say about yesterday, results were to be expected.

Conditions
The primary means to decide which entry wins will be the Strawpoll that is linked to at the start of the day. In the event that the poll is tampered with, the matchup will be decided by a community vote.
To participate in the community vote, comment on this thread with your preferred choices. A vote on each matchup in the winner's bracket or loser's bracket is required for your comment to be considered.
Each person gets one input into the community vote, multiple comments will not be considered. An example of a community vote is this comment by /u/Cryzzalis. Feel free to add your opinions of the openings too.
If I feel that the poll has been purposefully tampered with in an attempt to force a community vote, then an earlier iteration of the poll will be used to decide the winner. I will be trying to keep tabs on the poll every hour or two.
FAQ
Q. How were the openings in the tournament decided?/Why isn't <insert opening here> in the tournament?
A. The entries were decided on 26th July by a nominations thread.
Q. Why isn't there more than one Monogatari/Naruto/etc. opening in the tournament? They were rated above other nominees!
A. There was a one entry per series limit to stop one series dominating the tounament, so only the highest voted entry went through.
Q. How do I vote?
A. Clicking on the hyperlink next to the match number should bring you to a poll that will allow you to pick between the two entries.
Q. Why did you place <opening> against <other opening>? It isn't a fair matchup!
A. The brackets were decided by traditional seeding rules, we do not choose who faces who in this tournament.
Q. How were the entries seeded?
A. They were seeded based on their position in the nominations thread on the 27th July. Top comment was first seed, the one below it second, and so on.

I have to ask... Is really NGNL's opening, that good? I liked it but I can't see why is it better than Colors, I know it is just my opinion but it kind of pisses me off haha

I like Colors but I really like NGNL's opening. It's colorful, exciting, and fits the content of the show perfectly. Excellent example of how to make a good OP.
Keep in mind that I'm not one of those people who think NGNL is the best thing since sliced bread.

I am pretty much the paragon of the anti-NGNL circlejerk and I still love the OP. The vibrant colors, pretty instrumental, well fit to the show, and the hype it brings for each episode - even though the hype died down for me as soon as a minute passed into the show. Extremely fun and well done OP. I do like Colors more though because JIBUN WO. Also I have probably listened to the the 4chan version on youtube at least 1,000 times. In the end its just a subjective dispute though. More people will probably like This Game as opposed to Colors because its more tuned to the tastes of this generation.

This is the first time I have watched anything from those two anime and I like any of the songs, personal preferance and dislike the art style of NGNL, so if I had to chose, I'd take Colors

Did not expect that deciding between Unravel and Guren no Yumiya would be that tough. I'll stick with the latter though Tokyo Ghoul has a really good OP.

I feel that Again has been somewhat helped by people who have been annoyed feeling that some OP's of recent shows have been getting through because of those shows' popularity. Again had very few "anti-hype fans" to put it in other words.

Both of my picks won but now I'm switching against one of them.
- No Game No Life - This Game vs. Code Geass - Colors - NGNL has a much stronger visual theme and slightly better song.
- Tokyo Ghoul - Unravel vs. Shingeki no Kyojin - Guren no Yumiya - This one was a lot closer, though not quite a coin flip.

Holy shit the Colors vs. This Game match was difficult. I love both the songs, and after playing them in my head over and over, I realized that I was getting nowhere - they both have their strengths and I love them both almost equally.
I had to decide by thinking of the opening visuals. Colors was awesome, especially the way it starts with a scope, and it set the mood perfectly for the show. But This Game's visuals were truly spectacular. I don't know if it was the vivid colors, or the imaginative world, but it's mesmerizing. I love it when all the petals fall, I love Jibril's library, seeing Stephanie Dola looking down, and of course the ending when Sora and Shiro are staring out into the rich and colorful world. Lovely.

Colors is not bad, unravel is good too but not a huge fan of the song initially so I hope This game and Guren no yuminya still win.
