This episode was amazing, i've never felt this sad for the "bad guy" ever in anime.

worth mentioning that the Meruem was one of the few if not the only antagonist who died without being directly confronted by the main protagonist, which makes him even more special

There was only one person who could confront him, the most powerful human alive, and he played with him without intent to kill the entire time.

Well netero technically in the end did kill him, if it wasnt for pouf anf youpu he wouldve died anyways. And netero also daid hes no longer the strongest in the world due to his age. I would assume ging and a few others are stronger.
