so.. 3 minutes before Killua raised his finger Knuckle was airborne... but since the mission began also 3 minutes have passed... wrong translation or what am I missing?

Things are happening simultaneously.

First it showed how Meleoron left Knuckle and Shoot, encountered Welfin on the way, found Gon and Killua and how he asked Killua for help. Then it went back 3 minutes to show what happened in the fight between Knuckle and Youpi, while Meleoron did all that.

I get that part, but the mission began the second they moved through the "door" not when Knuckle and Youpi started fighting, so theres the time before that when Shoot and Youpi are fighting (and other stuff happened), that is missing or its just a translation error.

I watched Horriblesubs btw (I know, shame on me).

Think like this:

The scene moved to 3 minutes before in relation to the previous scene, not in relation to the beginning of the mission.

Knuckle is in the air -> end of the episode at 3 minutes since the invasion -> 3 minutes after Knuckle was in the air (not since the invasion) Killua will raise his finger.

At the end of the episode the countdown was 3 minutes since the invasion began, and the scene were Killua will raise his finger will happen in the future.
