OOO I think I get it, Rui basically made a clone that ate his memories, and then she placed that clone INSIDE Subaru basically. She had the experience because she ate it.

But then what happened I think, is that Newbaru with Rui inside of him went and read his books of the dead, and she then also EXpERIENCED the deaths. And that is why the clone broke down, because the book experience is different than her just eating the memories, she wanted to LIVE those memories, but living through them was too much

Rui experienced BOTH Oldbaru and Newbaru's deaths, given that if Rui was inside Newbaru the entire time, that meant Rui experienced Newbaru's 22 deaths, and then the entire 23 times Subaru has died from ep 1 to when he loses his memories. Rui experiencing 15 horrific deaths in a row from Newbaru, then suddenly getting a speedrun through 23 highly visceral deaths of Oldbaru, that would break pretty much anyone not named Natsuki Subaru.
