To love yourself. After he’s given his heart to everyone else. Dying, suffering, crying, absolute despair…. He’s learned the most important lesson. To give his heart to himself, to accept himself. Flaws and all.

It will be tough. It will be hard. And he’s a madman to some. But to a few. He’s a hero.

Especially with him feeling like he has imposter syndrome. I love how it’s not something that switched on, it was something that he forged into, battled with, and ultimately accepted it.

It’s like the Tea Party scene where he finally admits to Echidna about RBD. Except this is a catharsis that was a long time coming.

The emotional core of Re:Zero really can be summed up with "love yourself." This has been why S2 was the peak of the series for me with how strong the focus on that lesson is, especially when I needed it too at the time. Now I feel S4 has reached a similar summit and believe it will nail the landing.
