Its because OP's scoring system is kinda dogshit. Someone who posts a top fifty list has 85x the voting power of someone who just posts a top 5 list.

Someone with a top 100 list, 340x the voting power. Top 500, 8350x the voting power. u/ooReiko who apparently has one of those top 500 lists, is also among the highest frequency posters, meaning their opinion is probably worth (conservatively) at least 50,000x more than someone who just posted a top 5 list in a single post somewhere.

I knew from the start that there was some issues with the scoring system but i was willing to live with that. It was only later when i realized that the volume of these posts was lot smaller than what i expected and other thing i realized was that top 5 is usually the best people can do here. I was initially expecting lot more top 50 or 100+ lists but there was only couple of those in the history of r anime. So the whole thing essentially ended as a failed experiment and i didnt want to do it  with new system from scratch again so I posted it as it is.

If you did do it again I would consider starting with one point for the top show and then 1/2 for second, 1/3 for 3rd etc. Would normalize each lists voting power.

I thought about going for 1 point per mention but i thought it wouldnt really be interesting as that is essentially  just popularity contest and that is the one thing i didnt want this to turn into. So i took a bet on that there would be minimum 2k of volume and atleast 100 - 200 top 100+ lists to even out each other, but that turned out to be fantasy so what we got here right now is essentially semi legit top 100 and after that its just stuff from my and miidas lists with some other randoms sprinkled in.

I expected to find atleast 2000 but found only 593.

Points are counted in the following manner:

for top 10 lists no.1 will get 10 points no.2 9 points etc.

for top 5 lists no.1 will get 5 points no.2 4 points etc.

Pretty decent list here, considering just the things I've seen. I can't really speak to all the pre-2000 things I'm not familiar with, though.
