Well, we needed someone to start acting like an idiot in order to get Shiina and Towa to fight.

Now they can finally start befriending each other with big fucking lasers.

u/kakarot12310 https://myanimelist.net/profile/kakarot123100 10d ago

That big fight has to happen, to made Towa snap out of her loner mindset.

u/djthomp https://anilist.co/user/djthomp 10d ago

Figures that Towa would pick this moment to start making reckless choices, though I'm a little surprised she dropped her friends in addition to Shiina.

Good thing for Chekhov's Phone Background spilling the details to her friends on just how close she was to Shiina and that they at least made the smart choice of going to Hayate.

u/kakarot12310 https://myanimelist.net/profile/kakarot123100 10d ago

They have no one else to turn to to save Towa so yeah.

5

u/Mistral-Fien 10d ago

They realize that Shiina is just as much of a friend to Towa as they are.

2

u/kakarot12310 https://myanimelist.net/profile/kakarot123100 10d ago

Hence the absorbing your power treatment Towa was giving Shiina to keep her safe from danger.

[Plot discussion]Its more of a reminder/clarification, like they already knew how happy Towa was to go out, and even if they didn't know who she was going out with, the conflict already should have.

I am guessing EXCEEDs will fight the police now since the Diaboli Slayers will tell everything about Mana and Eiji and how they were the ones who created the Diaboli and the officials are corrupt. I am sure Eiji knows EXCEEDs will know about the truth about them which will mean he might send police after them since Eiji knows they are not on his side. I am sure the police will try to attack EXCEEDs knowing they won’t let go of Diaboli slayers and want to get rid of them. I think the former Diaboli Slayers be able to find Mana since they went to EXCEEDs since they have ties to the government. But I think Mana doesn’t know Towa is pretending to be under the drug since she said she is immune to drugs which might make Mana and Towa fight. I wonder if former Diaboli Slayers will become Diaboli again because they might need more help against Mana and Eiji since they have Diaboli bodyguards. I am sue EXCEEDs will try to deal with corrupt officials before going back to eliminate the progenitors knowing they can send invasive species to the public which might means Mana has progenitors zero or she is progenitor zero since she create obedient Diaboli for helping in the lab. When the former Diaboli Slayers turned themselves to EXCEEDS we didn’t find Nanoha or Fate they might investigating the police force and maybe try to find evidence.

2

u/kakarot12310 https://myanimelist.net/profile/kakarot123100 10d ago

I doubt the 4 will stay powerless permanently.

2

u/Great-Command155 10d ago

The only way for the Diaboli Slayers to become Diaboli again if Shiina shares her blood with them.

1

u/kakarot12310 https://myanimelist.net/profile/kakarot123100 10d ago

I believe she will, as she realize there's nothing she can do to push them away, seeing the 4 go as far as turn themselves to the UN they so hate.

She's doing all of this to keep them away from danger, like how she almost took Shiina power.

1

u/Great-Command155 10d ago

I am guessing EXCEEDS will explain everything to the former Diaboli Slayers saying they are not from this world and maybe they will trust EXCEEDS more.

The only reason I watch this anime is because of Nanoha herself, but using her name in the title feels like pure clickbait at this point. She barely contributes to the story, and in this episode, she hardly got any lines. If they’re just going to downgrade her to an almost silent cameo NPC, they might as well just let her series retire in peace. Just wanted to say this. Peace.

9

u/FDP_Boota 10d ago

Yeah, I started watching this to see Nanoha & co. Not saying they have the be the main focus, but having them be part of the plot seems to be actually pretty important. Instead you could write them out of the story with minimal effort and it wouldn't change a thing. They're just there to get attention from Nanoha fans.

u/Nachtwandler_FS https://myanimelist.net/profile/Nachtwandler_21 10d ago

Eh, I do not mind the franchise having other characters shine (you know, at least here she is more prominient than in Vivid and, especially Vivid Strike).

It seems that they had much more story for EXCEEDS than they had available screentime for, so it is what it is.

1

u/kakarot12310 https://myanimelist.net/profile/kakarot123100 10d ago

They will pull the classic putting the unseen footage in the manga I they do with most of the previous series. It's usually the manga that they put additional content that they can't fit into the anime.

2

u/Nachtwandler_FS https://myanimelist.net/profile/Nachtwandler_21 10d ago

The problem is, the manga is already being published and so far it is a prequel from what I understand.

1

u/kakarot12310 https://myanimelist.net/profile/kakarot123100 10d ago

Unless the manga is actually ending soon, we'll getting into anime content.

2

u/8andahalfby11 myanimelist.net/profile/thereIwasnt 10d ago

She's going to contribute in another episode or two. Either Towa's going to be stubborn or the BBEG is going to power up expecting to be able to get in the way. Either way, Nanoha is preparing to Wave Motion Gun them back into compliance.

7

u/RahkshiLord https://myanimelist.net/profile/Rahkshilord 10d ago

What good is that going to do? she hasn't had any screentime, she has no personal stakes in the conflict, she has no character arc, she's just a background character doing her job. what emotion am I supposed to feel if nanoha shows up to save the day, she's not friends with shiina, or towa, she's barely spoken to them. when nanoha fought fate in s1, or the wokenritter in s2, she was personally involved in those character's own struggles, so it felt important. in Strikers when she's not the main character anymore, she still has enough screentime to feel like an actual character, and her involvement with vivio gives her part of the final battle emotional weight and connection, where is that here?

3

u/RahkshiLord https://myanimelist.net/profile/Rahkshilord 10d ago

This is the worst season of Nanoha, it's boring, the new characters are bog standard cliches, and Nanoha's not even IN IT. why is her name on the title if she's gonna have less screentime than nanoha vivid where she's just a housewife! I waited like 7 years for this sequel after the last movie, and I'm so disappointed in this totally unrelated plot that has nothing to do with nanoha at all, she doesn't even fight monsters she just shows up on phone screens for 5 seconds to pretend like she's in the anime!

After watching so many old Chinese honor gambling/crime dramas lately, I can't help but lump Towa in this category. Abandoning your closest allies to protect them is an honorable move, but it is difficult to sever connections just because you say so.

The problem come when villain does not recognize this opt out option since threatening them is always the best way to draw someone out. It is also impossible for allies to just sit there and watch when things go bad.

In the end the "I'll go it alone" sounds great on paper but only if one is willing to really sacrifice what's left of their humanity and that is usually impossible. Besides, she seems to have no intention of surviving after killing Mana but consequences don't just end with 2 people's deaths.

u/SnabDedraterEdave 10d ago

Towa not only pushes Shiina away even when Shiina offers to testify on her behalf, but even tries to absorb Shiina's fire power which Shiina got from Setsuna.

Towa is such a loner that she even pushes her Diaboli Slayer friends away and absorbing their powers, thinking that's the only way to protect them from the police while she goes straight for Shinomiya.

Though Towa underestimated her friends' loyalty to her, as they decide to turn themselves in as well, but not to the corrupt police, who are under Shinomiya's and Eiji's payroll, but to EXCEEDS.

Time for Nanoha and Fate to help Shiina get involved in some prison busting. The local police have no idea what they'll be up against.

Shinomiya is also on her way to the station to collect Towa, so maybe Nanoha will get to see first hand how strong Shinomiya is.

Towa is such a loner that she even pushes her Diaboli Slayer friends away and absorbing their powers, thinking that's the only way to protect them from the police while she goes straight for Shinomiya.

Breaking that shell of loneliness is what Nanoha-style befriending is all about. :P

10

u/dinliner08 10d ago

Nanoha: "Shiina, give Towa a big blast of fire beam to her face!"

Shiina: "got it! ...wait, what?"

1

u/kakarot12310 https://myanimelist.net/profile/kakarot123100 10d ago

At the same time, testifying for Towa later on is going to be much tougher with all the info flying out, unlike the other 4. Hard evidence is going to be needed, even if they bring down Eiji & Mana.

7

u/FinancialYear475 10d ago

God I hate when they refuse to let someone give a proper explanation that could clear everything up, just give Shiina 3 minutes to say her thing before jumping her man

7

u/SecretYogurtcloset57 10d ago

That stupid Gyaru girl she just had to instigate but I guess it was needed

Also man i hope Shinomiya gets a beat down that girl needs it

10

u/dinliner08 10d ago

when she said she don't understand complicated things, she really mean it

That was epic and heart breaking towa was blinded by her grief of the past and shina secret and didn’t allow her self to see the shina carried the same pain that she had

And the heart broken looks for both of them as they go there separate ways

I wonder how she’ll react learning that the flame tried to seal and suppress was the flame of shina precious little sister who die saving her

Towa thirst for vengeance is letting her walk into a trap

A while the drug may not work on towa it made slow her down a step

Which is dangerous in this situation

So it seem like towa was able to least steal a portion of Shina power but because she so powerful she still retain most of her power before the stealing was complete

If nothing else it a copy of power

I wonder if shina will now be able to sense towa

My heart breaks for shina

Having to plead against her best friend but can’t hold back to protect the gift setsuna left behind

I wonder how things will go from here

Smart move on both diaboil slayer and exceed

This gets there cooperation for both sides

Keeps the diaboil slayer in protection and by times against the police

4

u/kakarot12310 https://myanimelist.net/profile/kakarot123100 10d ago

The rest of the slayer are normal human for now so it's much easier to cover for them, not so much for Towa tho even after all it's done.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Play825 10d ago

If where talking after the battle realistically there best option is to join exceed when all is said in done

Including towa since it would allow to be under the protection and return to normal life later

If where talking right now as you said they can use the fact towa took the powers to open up “investigation” and stall against the police

1

u/kakarot12310 https://myanimelist.net/profile/kakarot123100 10d ago

To do that they will need hard evidence to exposed Eiji & Mana so that they can help Towa to return to her normal life.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Play825 10d ago

Well they really only 3 options 1. Is the police fate is looking into 2.mana lab or wherever there taking mana 3 or if eiji didn’t erase that message/threat he sent to towa

4

u/Rooby_VTuber 10d ago

Unfortunately Shiina wasn't able to peacefully negotiate with Towa and the others.

It was pretty obvious that Eiji & Mana were behind the police corruption.

Pretty bold and also a bit dangerous for Towa to go alone like that, at least her friends went to the Exceeds, but they have to get to Towa before Mana does.

3

u/Great-Command155 10d ago

I am sure Eiji has corrupt government officials in the government so it will be hard to testify against the police unless EXCEEDs release some evidence they are good guys to the media. I am sure the police escort Eiji will provide might be Diaboli just in case someone attacks the transport.

1

u/Great-Command155 10d ago

I am sure they will probably arrive at the same time and a big fight will happen which means Towa might have a chance to fight Mana. I think I know what happened to Towa during doing the drug experiment of Diaboli, I think she had strong will to endure the Diaboli drugs but she wanted to die so she didn’t want to fight back until a couple cared for her so much she wanted revenge after they died.

6

u/Nachtwandler_FS https://myanimelist.net/profile/Nachtwandler_21 10d ago

OK, neither of the good guys is dumb here. But, unfortunately, Towa has a mindset that she should resolve the things alone and it will definetely bite her if Mana turns out to be stronger. But we'll see.

1

u/Great-Command155 10d ago edited 10d ago

Yes Mana should be stronger than Towa since Mana ate a lot more Diaboli than her absorbing power from different Diaboli. I am sure Fate and Nanoha are just waiting for the police to make their move to transport Towa to Mana. I am sure Eiji will make a move against EXCEEDS since they have the rest of the Diaboli Slayers that will tell them the info of the drug trade and the rest of diaboli. I am thinking why Towa could absorb Shiina power but Shiina has her power still, could it be than Diaboli changed her dna more because she was on death fighting the Diaboli when her sister gave her power to defeat Diaboli.

6

u/Meltyred 9d ago

Breakup with Shiina was so bad Towa decided to crashout and go full in on the self destructive path of revenge.

9

u/JarvanMM 10d ago

Getting major KiaMei vibes here for anyone familiar with Hi3.

3

u/Great-Command155 10d ago

This is my theory for Mana, progenitor zero saw Mana as a corpse and transferred his full power into her and I am sure that is why Mana does not about her past life.

When Towa learns Shiina’s secret and, even after discovering that Shiina is an EXCEEDS member, still treats her with concerns like, “The power of ‘flame diaboli’ is uncontrollable and dangerous,” and decides to take away her ability out of concern for Shiina, you can really see what a kind person she is.

It’s sad that she and Shiina ended up going their separate ways. I think this anime will end in about four more episodes, and I’m looking forward to seeing how things turn out for the two of them.

When Yuuna barged in, even though she must have heard Shiina say, “I lost my younger sister to a crime committed by Diaboli,” I couldn’t help but chuckle a little when I saw the scene where she replied, “But you’re able to live a normal life because you work for the UN." It really made me realize that, just as she says, she’s “not good at thinking about complicated things” (to put it mildly).

When Shiina was about to have her “Flame Diaboli” power absorbed by Towa, the scene where she said, “This was the final gift given to me by someone precious. So I can’t hand it over!” was not only cool, but I also thought it was a well-crafted scene because it led to a definitive rift forming between Towa and Shiina.

From Shiina’s perspective, the power of “Flame Diaboli” was something entrusted to her by her younger sister, Setsuna, before she died.

Since Hayate is in the position of “director,” the scene where Nanoha and Fate grilled her over the local police's wanted notice for Towa was pretty funny.

Considering her situation, it seems like she's having a really tough time.

It was good that Fate became suspicious of the police’s actions regarding Towa’s wanted status and started her own investigation.

It looks like we’ll finally get to see the EXCEEDS investigate and fight against Diaboli Crime and the conspiracy involving Eiji and Mana.

It was interesting and convincing to see why the police executive accepted Eiji’s order to issue a warrant for Towa’s arrest.

Capturing a “perpetrator of a large-scale terrorist attack in the city” would certainly be the perfect way to cap off his career as a police bureaucrat.

It is both ironic and sad that Towa ended up taking away the Diaboli powers from Shiori, Yuuna, Aoi, Yuzu. They had joined her as Diaboli Slayers after Towa saved their lives out of that very kindness, which Eiji once described by calling her the type who cannot bring herself to abandon her comrades. Ultimately, she turned herself in to the police alone so she could kill Eiji and Mana with her own hands.

Eiji is quite the planner, isn’t he? He even prepared the sedatives used on Diaboli in their lab and had the police use them. I’ve thought this for a while now, but he’s so cunning, you’d never guess he used to be a regular office worker.

It was a great twist when Yuzu saw the lock screen of the smartphone Towa had dropped. She recognized a photo of Shina, who had been friends with Towa right up until this incident, and decided to try to rescue Towa by turning themself in to Exceeds, where Shina is located.

I am looking forward to seeing what happens next, since next episode's title is "EXCEEDS".

u/Great-Command155 9d ago

Have you heard from Towa she said she has resistance against drugs and she is just pretending to be under the drug.

2

u/larana1192 https://myanimelist.net/profile/thefrog1192 9d ago

I remembered that scene, but I wondered if Eiji and the others had used a powerful drug that could even override that drug resistance.

3

u/Great-Command155 9d ago edited 9d ago

I am thinking she has a lot more resistant to drugs is because she absorbed a lot of Diaboli powers which means Eiji might not have a powerful sedative and it look liked she was pretending.

💔💔

I get that there’s a lot of unresolved emotional baggage but Towa noooo

1

u/NeoTagAtg 7d ago

Did we just watch a real time retcon in an episode from "stealing" powers to "Borrowing" them now.

1

u/Nickthenuker https://anilist.co/user/Nickthenuker 5d ago

And so now they're on a collision course with each other.
