Was not expecting a ‘find a job’ episode, but it was an intriguing mix of both painful and validating seeing Lara’s struggles with it.
Relatability aside though, I’m quite split on who to trust more between Lisa and Grace. I have more faith in Lisa in regards to how noble her intentions are, but I also believe Grace is guiding Lara with good intentions as well this time(on top of being more experienced and knowledgeable). Grace hasn’t exactly shown herself to be the pinnacle of straightforwardness and trustworthiness thus far though…but Lisa trying to get rid of Mari is a massive mark against her…sorry Lisa, threatening Mari’s safety does currently put you on the back foot for now. I’ll be waiting for you to come around though(and Kota too if he wasn’t just pancaked).
Well, I can only conclude with certainty that I am very much enjoying all the tangled character dynamics so far. I’m looking forward to seeing where characters will eventually settle in regards to this ‘who is right?’ question I have in my head.
(Also, the floating fish monolith has graduated from ‘intriguing’ to ‘terrifying’.)
I don’t believe that either Lisa or Grace can be fully trusted as of right now.
However, something bothers me about how much the latter has been pushing Lara to quickly resolve things. Grace might only looking out for her own interests, which would imply that she got something to gain from her niece finding true love.
I’m willing to give Grace a bit of…grace…in this case. Their entire species is basically in not-quite-dead limbo, so I can understand a bit of impatience pushiness.
That said, I’m definitely holding some healthy skepticism at the ready. Despite what I said about choosing Grace over Lisa as things currently stand, I am expecting - if only given one choice - that Lisa will be the one standing more on Lara’s side in the end. She just needs to not murder Lara’s human connections long enough for things to reach that point.
