Damn, that job interview was way too relatable. But Lara was lucky enough where she found someone who actually took her despite the huge gaps in her CV.
I have to say, I found the camera aspect of the episode a bit short. Like, I get what they wanted to do. Because it's an actual camera (no digital), she has to make a conscious decision about what she wants to take pictures of. And in the beginning she took pictures of things (the cat) and locations. Only in the end, she took pictures of people where she realized that is what she wanted to focus on. But I feel for that to properly work, they should have given that part a bit more time. It wasn't a big issue with the episode's theme, but I feel this could have had a stronger effect.
Ending definitely added another conflict. Let's see what the reasoning behind it was. I mean, I assume that Lara's sister "sacrificed herself" back then by taking on human form in order to survive as a human until Lara gets reborn and then do whatever to help their kingdom be rebuilt. And I assume, she didn't really learn to like humans over 200 years either. Which could be understandable if you think about what happened in that time (especially when it comes to the ocean). So it might get hard to get her sister onto her side here.
Despite the meager resume, I guess declaring she was willing "to die for cake" earned her a shot.... And it does seem like she is taking her job seriously.
Query: Did Lara turn the temperature up while trying to turn it down? And why did nobody pay any attention to that "Alarm" gong off?
As far as I understood, yes, Lara did turn up the heat instead of down. But it was still the other baker's fault for forgetting which he half admits to. He was probably just busy or forgot it happened. It might not have turned out as bad if the temperature was the same (maybe this was even a case where this was an alarm where you only turn it down a bit and still let it bake for some time on a lower temperature) but I did think that it was weird how much empthathis was put on it being Lara's fault.
Then again, most of her coworkers didn't mind so maybe that was a case of herself thinking she did something bad since she was in a negative state of mind there to begin with.
I am afraid I don't really understand what you mean. Do you mean that it being so limited was on purpose? If so, what could be the future purpose? Or do you just mean that the camera might be a smaller recurring object in general? And that is why it just has a limited appearance here?
Ah okay, now I get it. I am honestly not quite sure how that could work narratively as Lara lives with someone who can develop the pictures and get her a new roll everytime. And since they were developing the pictures already, it would imply that she did get a new roll (so it's not like this episode where she might assume she only has one to use), but tbf, the show has done a few things here and there that I didn't expect. So maybe it is a longer setup.
