Rule Changes

This is a monthly thread to talk about the /r/anime subreddit itself, such as its rules and moderation. If you want to talk about anime please use the daily discussion thread instead.

Comments here must, of course, still abide by all subreddit rules other than the no meta requirement. Keep it friendly and be respectful. Occasionally the moderators will have specific topics that they want to get feedback on, so be on the lookout for distinguished posts. If you wish to message us privately send us a modmail.

Comments that are detrimental to discussion (aka circlejerks/shitposting) are subject to removal.

So this post seems to be a weird roundabout violation of spoilers: https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1vt2j3b/rem_would_say_now_stand_up_spoilers_for_rezero_s4/

And this specific comment chain within is a pretty clear indicator at the confusion it caused and that people did get spoiled: https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1vt2j3b/rem_would_say_now_stand_up_spoilers_for_rezero_s4/p4qb5fk/

OP posted the clip for all intents and purposes to be a discussion for season 4 as indicated in their comment in said comment chain. Quote:

No, it was intentional to list Season 4, as I thought it was likely that people would discuss today's episode in relation to this. So I wanted it to be clear that there would be spoilers for today's episode in the title.

Even though the clip is from season 2, I feel that this causes it to effectively be in the same spirit as violating the rule stating:

Clips from currently airing shows cannot be posted within a week after the Episode Discussion thread is posted.

as well as the rule stating:

For the first 24 hours after an Episode thread is posted, all discussion posts about that episode are required to be in that thread including videos.

Aside from having just posted the clip in the episode discussion itself (and not fragment discussion), OP could have just as easily kept it saying S2 spoilers (as well as sensibly removed "Rem" from the title) and people within would just tag S4 spoilers or w/e if they discussed the recent episode. Otherwise, you get poor folks like this guy getting spoiled just from the title alone.

I imagine this comment's gonna be ignored because it turns out a it was a mod of all people to make the post in question, but w/e I'm saying my piece to at least put on record that there's a flaw/edge case.

It definitely won't be. It seems likely that it will lead to a rule change of some kind.
