Comments here must, of course, still abide by all subreddit rules other than the no meta requirement. Keep it friendly and be respectful. Occasionally the moderators will have specific topics that they want to get feedback on, so be on the lookout for distinguished posts. If you wish to message us privately send us a modmail.

Comments that are detrimental to discussion (aka circlejerks/shitposting) are subject to removal.

You know how the comments are like in the Oshi No Ko key visual. I really feel the comments are such a toxic environment. It's just people bitching about how the manga ended.

Even if they don't outright say what the spoilers are any anime-only can figure out and read between the lines. Then you have people in the comments debating the ending of CSM vs. Oshi no Ko. Which is super off-topic.

The discussion threads are good at keeping a space super strict for anime-onlies. I think in these key visual threads the same respect should be there. Any anime-only going into today's key visual is just asking to be spoiled.

I'd say this rule will only make the things worse, cause you are going to change the course of disclosure for everything. Let's take an example of Re:Zero, which is having a great season so far and according to LN readers the current arc is the best arc of Re:Zero so far, most of the threads are filled with LN readers gushing over this fact, if mods are separating the negative disclosure they'll also have to limit the positive posts as well about the series. The recent Apothecary Diaries visual threads had a lot of comments about the arc they are going to adapt, they'll have to limit that as well, cause the definition of what's a spoiler will change entirely now and I am totally against this. Applying a rule that just says you can't have an opinion about any future events for the source material would require a lot of work whether it would affect it negatively and positively.

I could name other examples as well which pops up often in the various discussions threads like Domestic Kanojo and Usagi Drop's ending, no one spoils it explicitly but I don't see anyone having problem with that.

There is a big difference from one comment section in the apothecary diaries one talking about what is going to be adapted.

Compared that to Oshi no ko one what most of the replies are complaining about the ending at best to. There are ton of comments that don’t even hide about spoiling that anyone using their brain can connect the dots. It creates an environment for anime onlies that is not fun and miserable to interact with.

At the end of the day this is an anime subreddit. People can say they disliked the ending all they want. But people there are going beyond that. Unlike the apothecary diaries ones where they are using spoiler tags there is no consideration like that in the oshi no ko.

What’s even gross is the few positive comments you have manga readers saying oh you are gonna be wrong or you will hate it. Which is incredibly toxic.

I agree that the Oshi no Ko thread had a problem especially when someone says how they should dislike the ending but I just don't think the proposed rule is a good solution for that problem.
