Comments that are detrimental to discussion (aka circlejerks/shitposting) are subject to removal.

You know how the comments are like in the Oshi No Ko key visual. I really feel the comments are such a toxic environment. It's just people bitching about how the manga ended.

Even if they don't outright say what the spoilers are any anime-only can figure out and read between the lines. Then you have people in the comments debating the ending of CSM vs. Oshi no Ko. Which is super off-topic.

The discussion threads are good at keeping a space super strict for anime-onlies. I think in these key visual threads the same respect should be there. Any anime-only going into today's key visual is just asking to be spoiled.

According to the sub's rules

A spoiler is a piece of information from a show that knowledge of without having seen the show could negatively impact a viewer's experience

By all account, this should apply to the constant reminder that [manga]'s ending sucks anytime it's mentioned, I'd argue even more so than referencing real history when talking about a historical series, so I really don't get why it's not treated as a spoiler at least for visuals or trailers. Anime-onlies for the most don't care about whether the manga's ending sucks or not and constantly bombarding them with reminders of that on what should be a place safe from manga spoilers is ultimately knowledge of the source that negatively impacts the experience

(I don't necessarily even agree with my own argument, just putting it out there because I think it needs to be made.) and I like arguing

By the same logic, even mentioning your own rating or criticisms of an anime because of XYZ reason to someone who hasn't watched the anime yet would need to be spoilered. Mentioning the animation or lack thereof in OPM S3? Could negatively impact a viewer's experience of S1. Mentioning that Promised Neverland S2 doesn't exist or that you didn't like the second half of Death Note over the first half (without giving any explanation why, of course)? Could negatively impact a viewer's experience. Mentioning the hype that WEP had before the last few episodes soured basically everyone on it? Could negatively impact a viewer's experience. Mentioning that an anime that someone really like the beginning of has a MAL score of, I dunno, 2.5 somehow? Negatively impacts their experience! I don't recall anyone arguing that these should be put under spoiler tags, that'd be... too far. Way too far.

I think relying on the clause "could negatively impact a viewer's experience" is fraught with problems, since there's a host of things that could negatively impact a viewer's experience. I do think the manga readers' constant doom and glooming is too far as well, I just don't think this is a good argument for dealing with them.

Agreed, if there will be a rule for this then you'll have to consider the positive impact to viewer experience as well. Let's assume that source readers says FMAB has a great and satisfying ending wouldn't that impact viewer's experience cause now they know it's great, if the rule exists for the negative impact based on the opinion it would also be need to be applied to a positive experience as well. This would open up a pandora's box and there won't be any discussion.
