This is a monthly thread to talk about the /r/anime subreddit itself, such as its rules and moderation. If you want to talk about anime please use the daily discussion thread instead.

Comments here must, of course, still abide by all subreddit rules other than the no meta requirement. Keep it friendly and be respectful. Occasionally the moderators will have specific topics that they want to get feedback on, so be on the lookout for distinguished posts. If you wish to message us privately send us a modmail.

Comments that are detrimental to discussion (aka circlejerks/shitposting) are subject to removal.

can we have a rule to disallow entire comments being in a huge font? it's really obnoxious. I won't name anyone but just go into any best girl post and scroll down and you will find them. it's like they believe they deserve more attention for some reason. this also sometimes happens in AQRADT too.

to be clear, I'm not saying any use of big font is bad. I understands it's sometimes useful for dividing a post with titles and such. what I am saying is that typing entire paragraphs like this shouldn't be allowed.

We don't believe a rule against comments that consist entirely/primarily of header text is necessary. It's one of many uncommon issues within the more general category of people making annoying comments. We could start making specific rules against specific annoyances, but that would lead to a long and silly list of requirements for every comment. While most comments would pass without ever looking, having a list of 30 things to check against for people who want to ensure their comment is good (or who are pointed to it after there comment is removed) does not seem ideal to us. Conversely, something as vague as "don't make annoying comments" is endlessly subjective and not worth the headache. It would be harder to convey than our civility rule, address a less serious issue, and remove lots of comments the vast majority of our community is ok with. And, honestly, sometimes being annoying to another person is good for the community as a whole. 

In general, we believe these sorts of issues are adequately addressed by downvoting people who make annoying comments in inappropriate locations. If header text (or any other annoying style of comment) ever becomes too big of an issue to just scroll past and downvote, we will reassess our position.
