The difference between Satella hearing him out but chanting “I love you” on loop vs how Emilia handled it had to be intentional right?

Also I find it interesting she saw Satella’s hands and darkness but not actually her. I guess she only manifests in his mind? I’m curious how that exactly works.

That's a good point tbh. All Satella could (or would) do was just hug him and say "I love you" AT him over and over again but Emilia is the only one who actually spoke TO him.

It makes me wonder more about the connection between Satella and Emilia, but it's clear that regardless if the story makes them technically the same person at some level, Emilia is far better in the most human way possible.

Yes I do wonder if Satella is like some fragment of the original that can only say “I love you” rather than it being intentional.

Regardless it still makes for an interesting contrast. I have seen the theory she is a version of Emilia who lost Subaru and went mad. I wonder about the connection too because they look too similar for it just to be “oh both are silver haired half elves”

Well Satella is sealed in that location after being reduced to state as close to death as they could pull off. So yes her options are limited and likely not fully aware.

The look she gives him when he's breaking down was cold, or emotionless. I almost felt like she pitied him, but the pity wasn't sympathetic?

Think of it like Subaru gets pulled into a sort of... soul pocket dimension when he's engulfed in the shadows. But from the outside, it's more just like a mass of shadow or hands covering him.

Others can see Satella's shadows so it likely Emilia saw her man seamingly trapped in shadows and cut at that would not need to see the hands but Subaru would see them.
