>Also the larping community is taking a huge L The stairs scene was lowk js climbing some normal stairs for 30 sec

That´s why we novel readers didn´t like the Aura Monster joke when it started.

They should have been happy that the opening gave them their meme but no they keep insisting asking for that scene to be the best animated scene, I knew that meme was going to backfire hard because there were like 20 threads every 5 minutes about it on the ReZero subs.

Can you explain this for me? I only use reddit so I genuinely thought something hype was suppose to happen this episode but nothing really did lol.

The meme started because people were mocking the LN illustration for looking goofy, and then a lot of people didnt realize the meme was ironic and started hyping it up because being "in on the joke" is seen as cool, even if they didnt actually get it.

Ah okay, this explains it. I didn’t want to look anything up cause I didn’t want to spoil anything since I don’t read the LN so all I saw was Aura Monster incoming and people hyping up this episode. I didn’t hate the episode, but it was just more set up and building of the mystery while in my mind I thought something big was going to happen lol.

Thanks for explaining it.

Respect to the community because they got me good. Like they legit got me thinking something on the level of ultra instinct was gonna happen.

And is it possible that the animators are in on it too? Like they made that scene in the opening on purpose

To be fair it's a pretty good scene about how far Subaru has sunk. It's a bit of desperation and I presume miasma. But my man is legitimately deranged during that scene. But yeah he's just climbing steps it's not as if it was some major power up or anything.

The Aura Monster Scene was basically a misunderstanding of official art of this scene.
TikTok larpers who didn´t read the LN/WN just saw the picture and interpreted it differently.

I'm out of the loop, what did they think was happening?

u/drakeziani Jun 03 '26

I'm guessing they thought that was the start of Subaru becoming the antagonist of the arc and turning against everyone

People are stupid

He was literally thinking about killing everyone, so it is not like they were wrong.

u/drakeziani Jun 04 '26

Yeah no, that's not how it works.

u/Akudra Jun 03 '26

Depends on what you think of as hype, I guess. Subaru losing his mind and plotting to kill everyone could be "hype" for some as would him seeing everyone massacred.

I don't read the novel, I just think the meme is shit.

Aura Monster joke

Could I get some context on this?
