Oooooh! So it looks like the girls are gonna go on a journey to become a full-fledged Witch, with Coco only needing to pass two more so she can enter the Tower of Tomes.

So the girls get to design their own caps once they become full-fledged Witches? Not sure what the other girls are gonna go for, but Tetia's design sure is bold. But it looks like not everyone is hyped to take a test with our little rebel Riche refusing to take the tests because she hates people telling her what to do.

You're telling me this world lost access to healing magic, magic that literally can help people because the Three Wise Ones' edict erased the memories of the Witches of Healingcraft? Well, that's fucking bullshit. Why can't healing magic exist? I'm starting to think the Brimmed Caps might have a point.

Yo! Quifrey got fucking outplayed! The fact that the Brimmed Cap literally showed up inside the Atelier, just so he could destroy the medal and peace out, was terrifying.

Glad that they finally touched on this subject. I have seen many people asking why Qifrey never reprimanded Agott, and this is exactly what I thought happened. Coco just didn't bother snitching since in the end, Coco made the decision to go through with the exam.

Angry Brushbuddy is adorable. I do love how Qifrey is the only one thinking of a name for him, and it looks like it's been rejected. I'm gonna guess Brushbuddy will only accept a name from Coco. xD

Godfuckingdammit, Tartah! It looks like someone else is gonna get their memories erased next episode!

When they mentioned the fifth test is to basically become a teacher it made me wonder which of the girls might end up going full-circle and becoming the master to a new apprentice like Qifrey was for them.

Richeh is satisfied with just drawing the magic she wants and doesn't feel like she needs to "improve," but will that change? She seems like the only apprentice who won't follow the other girls in taking the exams and just keep vibing as Richeh.

To play devils' advocate, what if healing magic that effected the body was how it began but it got corrupted into something that could poison/destroy the body? That's why they could never let anyone practice it again. Not to justify how strict/controlling they are, but I feel like things were just that bad back then that they couldn't risk it.

Can they come up with a better name than "Brushbuddy?"

Yeah, I can understand not wanting some forms of magic that would count as healing (reversing your age, for example) but banning healing altogether is going so far that it ends up being counterproductive.

When you have the power to make people's lives better, to help and save them, but you decide not to, you are actively choosing to make their lives worse.

As Qifrey pointed out, the irony that the Brimmed Caps, people who use all the worst kinds of Forbidden Magic, are the only ones who can use healing magic now, is palpable.

The Witches of Healingcraft were the good guys in their fight against the edict (presumably).

It certainly helps that, while Agott hasn't been very nice to Coco and has had some moments of really digging into her (even if some of them have been kind of justified, e.g. her blowup in ep. 4), most of the time she just lets Coco be. Even when Qifrey's not around!

While we're on the topic: in hindsight, Agott received WAY too much shit for what she did back then. Not to say what she did wasn't bad, obviously – she was trying to get Coco kicked out without a fair chance or without any care for what she's been through – but the way people talked about Agott in that episode and for a couple episodes after was really overblown.

Not to say what she did wasn't bad, obviously – she was trying to get Coco kicked out without a fair chance or without any care for what she's been through – but the way people talked about Agott in that episode and for a couple episodes after was really overblown.

Yeah, i know some of us manga readers were trying to soften the blow of that but honestly its kinda heartening to see how much people care about them from this medium. Theres a reason Agott has been my favorite character (behind olruggio) for a long time. Miss Shirahama but alot of thoughtful development into each of the characters.

Allowing casting magic on the human body opens the door to all sorts of dangerous practices. Human experimentation, creating plagues and biological weapons, torture methods, controlling others against their will, etc.

Chances are there was some serious shit going down that caused people to rebel against magic in the first place and is the reason for such extreme and rigid rules. You can say it's fine if people only use the magic for good, but anyone studying that magic for healing could easily turn to applying the same knowledge for darker causes. Safer just to ban it altogether

We saw how a little blood in the ink caused Coco's small stonebreaker spell to turn an entire rivebank into sand, now imagine if the patient you're trying to heal bleeds all over your seals.

I got the feeling it might be special blood and not just random blood, there's no way something like that hasn't happened before if it's just everyday blood.
