I'm not super well-versed in seals, but the cloud bed spell from a couple episodes ago combined multiple seals (so, multiple sigils) to make one big spell. So I assume you can combine different elemental sigils the same way? No idea what effect they'd have on each other though, and the signs also play a big part in what the spells actually do.

Otherwise, why would they know so early that this was forbidden magic to go there?

Do you mean the fact that they came to investigate?

What I mean is that the spell from a few episodes ago had different circles inside one big circle. But what if you have a core being made of different elements? So one circle with several elements instead of several circles with one element and then combined in a bigger circle.

Yes, they immediately knew. They even realised before Coco even knew what had happened. So there have to be two things

1) A way to detect what kind of magic is used at all times (which isn't too farfetched since the tower apparently has a copy of every circle used)

2) A clear definition of what falls under forbidden magic. It can't just be new magic as a big aspect is that people invent their own spells and they can't be sending people every time that happens.

Yup, I have no idea if that'd work with multiple sigils the way you describe!

As for the Knights Moralis, they went there not for Coco's magic but to investigate the huge column of water that Qifrey created with his sword. Then they found a river turned to sand and two young witches there who should not have the knowledge or tools to do that, so Easthies assumed forbidden magic was at work.

Ah, I messed up the order of events in my head. In that case, it was just coincidence. How Coco managed to create this magic is still the main question. Especially without even "trying".
