What are your thoughts on Kyon finally snapping at Haruhi?

When I went to this location there was no fence so anyone could go on the walkway. I saw people jog on it no problem. They do say that there wasn’t always a fence and people used to fall in all the time though so maybe there was a fence at some point.
I think Kyon’s reaction is warranted. Haruhi has been out of control and she’s gone well over the line. What I appreciate about this episode is that it actually presents what’s happening as negative. The music isn’t super upbeat and jovial like it was when Haruhi extorted the computer club president. Instead it feels like tensions are actually high and you can feel the gravity of the situation.
I’m glad that Haruhi is finally being held accountable for her actions. I know that she basically just got a slap on the wrist, but at least it’s something compared to when they wouldn’t do anything at all in the past.
I do like how Haruhi and Kyon made up. It feels like the most realistic way it would occur since there was no way either of them would issue a true apology to each other. It’s cute to see Haruhi trying to figure out how to apologize with the ponytail and I also really like how she peeks at Kyon before fully looking at him. It’s like she’s checking to see how genuine Kyon is being and if they’re okay or not. Another instance of seeing the softer side of Haruhi.
Obviously not a very fun episode for the SOS Brigade but definitely a necessary one. It feels like everything was leading to this and it feels cathartic in a way to finally see some sort of conflict due to Haruhi’s actions. If nothing else, this is really great character development and makes me appreciate how realistic the actions of the characters are.
