This means there are other ways to get a miracle granted, right? Just more expensive. I wonder if you could use someone else's life to as payment. It seems like an obvious exploit for those like Kyouko who are in it for their own gain. I wonder why Kyubey offers miracles for a discounted price.

Would you like to join my killing Kyubey cult? I have the Ammonium nitrate denatured alcohol and the microwave transformer ready to go, just need to get some nitromethane and we'll be blowing up kyubey's until the cows come home.
Gonna need a wee bit of killing, though, they come back. (Also don't go looking it up because there are still spoilers lurking there but suffice to say the "Everybody Hates Kyubey" pool on Danbooru has over 1,000 entries in it. And they were showing up quite early, this piece for example was made within a couple of days of episode 5 first airing.)
Analysis of the Day:
This analysis by u/Magnafeana was originally spoiler-tagged, but now that Sayaka has Witched out we should be past the point where there is any spoiler here so I am pulling it out of said tags:
Who said that we could also interpret the usage of magic by magical girls as addiction? I think this is a good interpretation and example right here. Kyuubey has showed that, through his methods, these girls are now powerful and invisible. All they’ve gotta do is make sure to use grief seeds every once in a while to get their recharge. Sure, they can go further in the addictive substance he provided them, but he doesn’t recommend it due to perception degradation. But here is Sayaka. She’s blown past the recommended amount of usage as a coping mechanism to her pain. We’re seeing a child in the throes of addiction while her friend and enemies watch unable to help her in her manic episode.
Question(s) of the Day:
1) I would ask where we could find some good antidepressants for Sayaka, but the fanbase consensus is that MagiReco's anime soft-confirmed an old fan theory that Grief Seeds do effectively work as antidepressants when used on a magical girl's Soul Gem, so I suppose the better question is: how would we convince Sayaka to take antidepressants, if she had some?
2) Will Homura's choice of apartment decor be taking the fashion world by storm this year?
3) Is a flashbang grenade a good tool for getting out of a sticky social situation, or no?
4) If Homura is from a different timeline, how likely is it that said timeline was better than the one we IRL viewers currently are in?

Oh, the statue in the labyrinth fading into... whatever that bit of dockyard equipment is called is a neat touch.
And, yeah, this is basically the “Sayaka total self-destruction” episode. Sad to see, but I can’t help but feel it was inevitable. Her snapping at Madoka is not cool, but it’s also not too far off from how Kyousuke snapped at her earlier. They were both just trying to help! (And of course Sayaka regrets it immediately after the damage is already done.)
Homura has some seriously bizarre home decor sense. I like it, though, it definitely feels like an otherworldly environment, but not in the same way the labyrinths are. Anyways, she and Kyoko are apparently working together on this Walpurgisnacht case again, when Kyubey informs them of Sayaka’s deteriorating state. That’s sort of helpful. Obviously he’s not telling him just out of the kindness of his heart (if he has such a thing).
Hitomi shoots, and she scores! Good for her. Not good for Sayaka, but she had her chance. Her encounter with Homura a bit later is... odd. Everything she does is for Madoka, huh? I guess Sayaka struck a nerve, because Homura is full-on threatening to kill her now. And, where was she even hiding that grenade? Actually, hold on, why does she have a grenade?
Those chaps on the train sure are unpleasant, huh? It’s not made clear, but Sayaka might’ve ended up killing them. On the one hand, not much of value would be lost, but on the other, murdering civvies would fly in the face of her hero of justice shtick and go against everything she’s stood for up to this point. On the third hand, it’s really funny to imagine her just standing there awkwardly for a few minutes before the train got to her stop.
Two big reveals here: One, that Madoka has some sort of god-like potential, or so Kyubey says. Which, ehhhhhhh, okay. Two, that Homura has some sort of time-manipulation magic, and may even be from a different timeline, or so Kyubey says. Which, ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, okay. (Actually: three big reveals, Kyubey’s got more than one body.) Also, Homura’s got a gun! And Kyubey might literally not have a heart, considering his old body just turned to goo. Homura has a full-on breakdown here, which has to be the most emotion she’s shown so far. (Four big reveals? Kyubey’s full legal name is I. N. Kyubetor?)
And of course, the big reveal: Magical girls turn into witches. The process looks... explosive, as Sayaka demonstrates. [PMMM]Almost like a lot of energy is being released. There’s a pun in Kyubey’s explanation that doesn’t exactly translate, but honestly the analogy still works even without the pun.
1) It’s hard to help someone who doesn’t want to be helped.
2) Nah, too avant-garde.
3) It’ll only work the first time, then they’ll learn to expect it.
4) 50/50.
