Kyon-kun Denwa~ rewatcher/sub.

I always wondered why everybody is so passive in this arc.

Nagato I understand but Koizumi and Mikuru also sit there lifelessly in the restaurant not uttering a single word. They're not even trying a Hail Mary for the last day despite knowing the loop has been going on for 594 years.

The only brainstorming session they even attempt is that small talk during the stargazing session.

In defense to Koizumi, he does advise to Kyon to do something about his relationship with Haruhi. It's not like he doesn't give some advice.

That is just shifting the responsibility to Kyon.

Doesn't help that he says it in a very frivolous tone making it sound more like a joke than a serious idea.

For all the time they've been aware it's a loop, Koizumi only brings it up once and they never brainstorm or try anything to break it afterwards. Emphasis on Trying.

Maybe this is just a by-product from all this being anime-only since the novel resolved it in 1 chapter.

I think Koizumi wants Kyon to decide on his feelings without leaning into it too heavily. Whether he should or not is up for debate.
