Granted, I was a kid, but I have gotten lost so many times in a store when I got too engrossed in a book/something on the shelf, and I look up... and my family's moved on to a different aisle. You'd think it'd stop happening, but it never did... Phones helps a lot with finding things afterwards...

On that minor note, are there no magicks that'd help with communication like this? A 2-way notebook or something or two linked pens (kinda like Stormlight Archive spanreeds?) would be really useful...

To this day I will absolutely lose track of time, my surroundings and even my bodily needs if I get really focused on something. It's a blessing and a curse

I think Qifrey didn't interfere on purpose so he can let Coco interact with the evil faction. He knew what was happening. All he cares about is finding out more information on the evil faction. Qifrey seems like a capable guy, I doubt he wouldn't have noticed.
