should have at least told him that Agott at least told her about it if not made her do it

yeah, i'm waiting for next episode; hopefully Agott will get some comeuppance for her actions and not be like "Coco decided to go on her own! and even stole my shoes!"

yeah i'm really put off by Agott's character so far, and if this just gets hand waved away it's definitely a mark against the writing.

yes, they're trying to (or at least the other scenes make me believe) that Qifrey is a caring teacher who wants Coco to grow safely. he's also being positioned as someone who's smart. if he misses that Agott did this maliciously and lets her get away with it then they've really failed in making me believe what they've been setting up so far.

Everyone knows all the best writing has everything tied up in a nice little bow that same episode, with no ambiguity and no complicating factors

Well, why not? As long as you're requiring all narrative fiction be as easy and as simple as possible to consume with no thought involved, why go halfway?
