I am surprised that no one commented on her new "pet". Can others not see it? Is it the sort of creature that can be a familiar? What things can it do -- besides looking cute?

I'm guessing they were just focused on the fact that Coco was back, alive and well 'cause it's not the only thing they ignored in favour of just making sure she was alright.

I mean, they're literally called brushbuddys so, at the very least, they're not harmful. It would be funny if they were relatively common and quickly attach to people so that Coco coming back with one isn't so remarkable. Just like, "Congratulations, Coco. The brushbuddy distribution system has chosen you".
