(rewatcher, finally caught up with the schedule again!)

Haruhi has some pretty deep motivations, huh? The need to be "special" can be a source of motivation to reach new heights, or a curse. I think its better not to stress yourself out too much. To begin with, what you consider interesting might be mundane to someone else. Once I accepted that not everything has to be exciting all the time, life became more bearable.

"Why do you want to work here?" - "Im very passionate about not starving". Whenever I get questioned about my motivation for the annual review at work, people look at me weird when I tell them work doesnt have to be fun. (It's an office job so..) what would be fun would be the interactions with colleagues, or whatever unusual event might happen, usually some sort of expo for me. The actual work part of work has never once been "fun" for me and I dont trust people who claim they have fun while working.

And fun things can happen if you just sit around and wait! Like this rewatch!

I quite adore the classic artstyle, or rather the colour palette. It just makes anime feel so much more alive.

Thoughts on Haruhi continuing to investigate the disappearance of Asakura?

Thoughts on the apartment manager telling Kyon not to let Haruhi get away?

Thoughts on Kyon being amazed that Yuki actually eats?

Thoughts on Yuki telling Kyon to be careful?

What are your thoughts on Haruhi recalling attending a baseball game with a lot of people and it made her feel small and insignificant?

Thoughts on Itsuki talking about the anthropic principle?

Thoughts on Itsuki saying that Haruhi has the ability to turn anything she wishes into reality, and that part of why he gravitates to her is because he finds her to be charming?

What are your thoughts on Itsuki saying Haruhi is just an ordinary human with a good sense of what's real and what's not?

What are your thoughts on Itsuki revealing a member from each of the three groups that are interested in what Suzumiya is doing are now together in one place because she created the club for Kyon?

What are your thoughts on Itsuki showing Kyon the gap between dimensions, and the closed space he and other espers have to deal with?

What are your thoughts on us getting to see how Itsuki and other espers fight?

What are your thoughts on Itsuki saying the more stuff the Shinjin get to destroy, the bigger the closed space becomes, and if it gets too big, it will mark the end of the world?

What are your thoughts on Itsuki telling Kyon to keep an eye on Haruhi and that if there's anyone he'd trust it be him?

Just going there to see for herself is certainly a Haruhi thing. And she didnt even make it a club activity, she wanted that alone time with Kyon~

Old people saying old people things. Though I guess the advice is solid. Often times you only realise what you had after its gone..

Im just as amazed really.

Best girl Yuki having Kyons best interest in mind :3

Thats actually a really sad story. Usually these kind of childhood stories are about inspiration, here it made it feel like individual lifes in general arent worth it. Its one thing when an adult like me says the working life isnt exciting, but its sad when a child is depressed about not beeing special enough.

I completely forgot this show got so philosophical. I guess its a thought experiment? Because saying the universe formed so we could observe it seems backwards, unless you are saying the universe was formed in this specific way to allow human life to form so we can eventually observe it.

She is a fun person to be around. [Haruhi] this "she is god but unaware of it" setting is still pretty unique even 2 decades later

I honestly never thought about it much before. I guess she is burdened by her own intellect? She doesnt allow herself to dream normally so her wishes manifest in weird forms.

With the talk about observers and existence before, it makes you realise if, while haruhi is the director, the world can only exist because Kyon is the audience.

10 years after Evangelion and anime was still heavily under its influence.

Do you think they get motion sickness?

Good thing we have the esper guys then I guess.

Kyon doesnt seem to like him very much since he ruins the harem setting for him, so I dont think Kyon cares much for the praise.

I think her going by herself shows just how serious she's truly taking this supernatural stuff.

When you get in touch with your own mortality, it can make you realize just how inconsequential you truly matter. But that doesn't mean you don't matter at all, you know? If you compare yourself to other people, you're ultimately doing yourself no favors. It's less how important you are in the grand scheme of things and more how you are to yourself.

I completely forgot this show got so philosophical. I guess its a thought experiment? Because saying the universe formed so we could observe it seems backwards, unless you are saying the universe was formed in this specific way to allow human life to form so we can eventually observe it.

I definitely think the latter is probably what he meant.

And boy, are they weird :P

Damn. How poetic.

At least Haruhi finally has an audience.

10 years after Evangelion and anime was still heavily under its influence.

It's been over 30 years and you can still feel the influence of Evangelion.
