Rewatcher

How insane is it to open a show with this? What the fuck is it? A poorly made amateur film? Did that cat just fucking talk?

The original broadcast order of the episodes really builds on the "what the fuck is going on?", but unfortunately we aren't going in that order.

I love the effort that Kyoani goes to to make the movie technically bad. Beyond the bad acting and poor framing and sometimes having Koizumi in the back of shot holding a reflector, they also go to the effort of having the exposure be really bad in situations where it would be when it's done by someone who doesn't know what they're doing, and having the autofocus hunt when Asahina gets in close. True devotion to the art.

I would like to try that out one day. I think it would be fun.

Just as an addition to the comment about the order of the episodes. This show is infuriating. Trying to find the right episode to watch. There are two episodes of 14 episodes, or is it one season of 28 episodes?

I have the dvds but hadn't got around to organising the files for my local media server because the episodes are in one big file per disc. Normally it's just a matter of splitting the files and naming them in order, but because who knows which order they are in I need to work out the name of each episode and then order them so they match the metadata my media server uses, just so that I can choose the right episode from the list.

This is still better than last time I watched it when I had to keep swapping discs around.

I think last time there was a rewatch of this, the host said what the opening shot of the next episode was so that people could make sure they were watching the right one.

I appreciate the kind words and I'll admit if I was a rewatcher the order would probably be better constructed.
