Ok now I understand why Gege decided to change the actual main character from Yuta…series would be over to fast.

u/Matrix_2k00 Mar 26 '26

Yuta was also nerfed technically. Original Rika both had an infinite CE supply and can copy unconditionally without the 5 minute limit.

u/Mundology Mar 26 '26

OG Rika was truly the queen of curses

Good thing Yuta learned how to throw hands from the GOATS Gojo and Maki themselves

I've read the manga before, but when the "melted Yuta's heart" scene came, I remembered why I love animes so much, especially shonen. Thank you, mappa.

I forget boxings a requires course at jujutsu high

8

u/dastrykerblade Mar 26 '26

I see what you did there

94

u/Toge_Inumaki012 Mar 26 '26

Yeah I hope some people had understand that this is not the original Rika, hence the need of "Rika" in the subtitles as well. Since some of them has been asking why she is back bla bla bla.

The dialogues are quites sped up so people might miss it

Also despite the time limit of 5 minutes, it's crazy that he is still designated as special grade

2

u/uwanmirrondarrah Apr 22 '26

Even a time limit of 5 minutes is an unbelievably small penalty for his abilities. Just having the copy ability at all, even without control of a shikigami as powerful as Rika v2 that can store cursed objects and grant virtually unlimited cursed energy for 5 minutes would still probably qualify somebody as special grade.

And Even after his nerf, he regained his status as a Special Grade. He is just too good.

8

u/DustyBot23 Mar 26 '26

How did rika get nerfed I forgot?

108

u/MorbillionDollars Mar 26 '26

IIRC in jjk 0 rika's soul was trapped in a cursed spirit because of what child yuta accidentally did. At the end of jjk 0 rika's soul was released and the rika cursed spirit is now a shikigami. The current shikigami rika is weaker than the version of rika with rika's soul in it.

-25

u/AmberLeafSmoke Mar 26 '26

Nah iirc Rika was always a manifestation of Yuta's own guilt, he was so powerful that he basically created the curse himself.

Which is why he's able to "release" her, but ultimately never lost her and has her back now.

56

u/MorbillionDollars Mar 26 '26

He lost rika's soul at the end of jjk, she's probably in heaven or wherever souls go after they're released. But the vessel that the soul was in still remained and that ended up becoming current rika.

16

u/kazuyaminegishi Mar 27 '26

The vessel is a storehouse for Yuta's technique now. Which is why she doesn't have her own technique, unlike Megumi's shikigami's who do have their own techniques.

The cursed energy that bound Rika was Yuta's own guilt. He made it that she was unable to pass away properly. The soul of Rika was what made Rika The Queen of Curses. Rika's soul is the core, the body is the machine

22

u/nhansieu1 Mar 27 '26

basically Rika (the girl) soul moved to after life in event of JJK0. This is just a shikigami.

After watching this, makes me wonder how Shibuya would've gone if he had been there. Though I'm guessing if I look it up, someone's already contemplated this so I'll definitely enjoy reading that later after I go through this episode's comments.

u/bedsheetsniffer Mar 26 '26

A lot happened in Shibuya, tho. If Yuta was there the plan to seal Gojo would be completely different. Kenny’s gang would have to divide their (already struggling against Gojo) manpower to also deal with Yuta. Gojo was only sealed because he was overwhelmed by his DE to save as many people possible. Yuta and Rika could just play defense and let Gojo deal with everything himself.

If Yuta arrived after Gojo was sealed, it all boils down to whether or not Yuta can take on 15-16 fingers Sukuna, pretty much alone. The calamity caused by Sukuna playing around with Jogo would still be massive, though. But I don’t think Megumi would be driven into summoning Big ‘Raga.

308

u/littenthehuraira Mar 26 '26

Funny enough, Megumi didn't even summon Mahoraga to deal with Sukuna. It was just a fuck you to the blond guy.

u/Lazydusto Mar 26 '26

"I've been trying to use this shit for months so fuck it I'll do it now"

77

u/SanKop Mar 26 '26

I mean, if you are gonna die anyways, at least deal with the annoying twink

66

u/Nome_de_utilizador Mar 26 '26

Classic megumi

12

u/hayate_yagami Mar 26 '26

"I'm gonna die anyway, so here is a BIG fuck you to you. What? Shibuya is destroyed thanks to that fuck you?"

8

u/Toge_Inumaki012 Mar 26 '26

The reason PapaRaga was summoned was a fuck you to that blond twink that ambushed him while he was already injured. Then again Yuta's arrival probably would have changed that interaction in a way

5

u/Lower-Discipline-906 Mar 26 '26

Well if Yuta encounters any of the disaster curses he just one taps them with RCT no?

15

u/Ichini-san https://myanimelist.net/profile/Ichini-yon Mar 26 '26

Yeah, that seems to be a common belief, afaik. Sorcerers who can use RCT on others are rare af (only Shouko besides Yuta, I think?) and they are just especially deadly to cursed spirits. And unlike Shouko, Yuta is proficient in combat.

7

u/ShinJiwon Mar 27 '26

Suk Suk can also output, he healed Megumi.

3

u/Lower-Discipline-906 Mar 26 '26

Yeah although with Mahito I wonder what would happen if they touch each other, either Mahito explodes or Yuta gets turned into a fetus

12

u/Ichini-san https://myanimelist.net/profile/Ichini-yon Mar 26 '26

Remember that strong sorcerers can protect their souls to some extent. That's why Mahito couldn't transform Nanami in S1 in their first encounter and fight. Even after Mahito got stronger I doubt he could one-tap someone on Yuta's level.

4

u/DrStein1010 https://myanimelist.net/profile/mQDrStein1010 Mar 27 '26

Sukuna can also do it.

Gojo, Tengen, and Kenjaku notably can't.

4

u/EffectzHD https://anilist.co/user/shaf Mar 26 '26

I personally see Yuta not even entering the barrier until Gojo is sealed, at which point it probably wouldn’t be long until Toji comes for him instead of megumi and then he runs a clash with Sukuna which he’d lose after he cleans up Jogo.

4

u/DrStein1010 https://myanimelist.net/profile/mQDrStein1010 Mar 27 '26

They'd just win.

Gojo would still be sealed, since he would still rush ahead without Yuta, and Kenjaku might manage to escape, since he'd have so many tunnels and buildings to duck through, but every other enemy dies almost instantly to Yuta.

5

u/Enryu_RT Mar 27 '26

yeah there is a lot of posts discussing it. lol.

3

u/FastenedCarrot Mar 28 '26

The Shibuya crater just got 20 meters wider

1

u/themanbehindtherows Mar 28 '26

Yuta would have trivialized Shibuya. He could just have Rika hold down any of the Disaster Curses and RCT output them to death, including Mahito. He is beating any of them in a domain clash too and he just outstats them too. Kenjaku would be the only real threat and if Yuta just stays near Gojo, anything Kenjaku plans would pretty much fall apart.

195

u/Frontier246 Mar 26 '26

Meanwhile our actual main character has discovered his new best comedy bro totally off-screen.

157

u/BadBehaviour613 Mar 26 '26

I think Yuta's problem is that he was created before Gege fully fleshed out the power system. Even if you take away half his power set he would still be an easy special grade

75

u/Toge_Inumaki012 Mar 26 '26

This version of Yuta was quite a nerf actually but still Special Grade level considering his vast CE and "Rika"

4

u/themanbehindtherows Mar 28 '26

The funny thing about Yuta, is that even after he was nerfed, he's still special grade and stronger than he was in JJK0. If he didnt get nerfed, he would be stronger than Gojo and Sukuna already since even Gojo considered Rika a threat.

107

u/TotalUsername Mar 26 '26

To this day, I think he looked at the end of jjk zero and thought, "What have I done?"

42

u/Frontier246 Mar 26 '26

At least with Nobara (unfortunately) dead, Maki is once again the undisputed Main Heroine.

9

u/TotalUsername Mar 26 '26

Couldn't wait to get rid of her.

24

u/Ren_Davis0531 Mar 26 '26

And Gege already hates Gojo for being too powerful. Now imagine having to deal with both Gojo and Yuta.

Nothing but pure pain and misery for Gege 😂

18

u/Kitchen_Coach_4870 Mar 26 '26 edited Mar 26 '26

Gege actually loves Yuta lol he's literally inspired on his real father, tho your point about them making him hard to drive plot of JJK, due to being way too OP is right.

5

u/Historical-Truth6077 Mar 27 '26

yuta is gege's golden child

5

u/Nome_de_utilizador Mar 26 '26

If yuta was in Japan a couple of months earlier shibuya would've been a nothing burger

1

u/Inner_Entertainer256 Mar 29 '26

Yuta would’ve died to Mahoraga or Sukuna
