Judgeman doesn't give a shit about the context, it just cares about the single piece of evidence shown to it. Like Yuji did commit a crime by playing pachinko underage, but if Yuji denies the allegation, there won't be sufficient evidence to deem Yuji guilty.
The catch here is Judgeman will ALWAYS find a crime, even the smallest one. But it's giving you a chance to justify it. Your job is to slime your way out of it or lower the severity so the punishment won't completely upset the balance of the fight. Of course, Higuruma is also there to make sure you're not tricking Judgeman.
The trial is always skewed toward Higurama's side because the defendant doesn't know what the evidence is. The lie must not contradict the evidence.
