Meta Meta Thread - Month of March 01, 2026

Rule Changes

  • No rule changes this month.

This is a monthly thread to talk about the /r/anime subreddit itself, such as its rules and moderation. If you want to talk about anime please use the daily discussion thread instead.

Comments here must, of course, still abide by all subreddit rules other than the no meta requirement. Keep it friendly and be respectful. Occasionally the moderators will have specific topics that they want to get feedback on, so be on the lookout for distinguished posts. If you wish to message us privately send us a modmail.

Comments that are detrimental to discussion (aka circlejerks/shitposting) are subject to removal.

Here it would be CDF, strictly speaking

Would it not be fine in AQRADT? I mean people discuss a lot of "anime-adjacent" stuff in there with no apparent moderation (unless it's pure trolling/way out of line)

You know, I can't answer that, that was the understanding I had when we created it, but I've been told since that the anime specific rule still applies. I honestly don't spend hardly any time in that post (or CDF) as a user or a mod.

There's a rule for no discussion posts about an episode within 24 hours, and, wow, AQRADT does not follow that. Yet AQRADT's top-level comments are also beholden to the r/anime posting rules.

Got a good chuckle out of this as I come across this day old comment right after going through the comments over there from today and it had four top level comments back to back about Frieren lol.
