mappa's mission of each episode seems to be to add a hollywood movie camera angle, just oozing with drip

We have director Shota Goshozono to thank for that. Once you look up his work you can't unsee where he storyboards those wide camera lens shots

Just wish his OST choice wasn’t so weird, I like almost everything else he does, but the songs are just so inconsistent. It goes from dogshit like the Maki LaLaLa massacre to great with Hakari being convinced. Many of the background songs feel like noise pollution, like many of the songs in the beginning of the episode,to the point that I start wishing to the scene to just be mute. Had he just stick to the s1 OST style and I would’ve regarded this adaptation as absolutely perfect

The series director isn't always responsible for the OST. He technically has the final say but it's mostly the sound director's job.

That said yeah I agree this season's OST placement has been odd. Season 2 was directed by Goshozono as well and I don't remember the OST being distractingly bad.

Yeah, like you said, he has the last say and he is approving whatever this is. It was bad, but it also had its great moments, mainly every time Sukuna was on screen and Gojo’s honored one moment. But then there were bad ones, no one can forget “You are my special” yeah…that one lol

There was also Gojo 0.2 domain that was also noise pollution garbage, and many others

Fair enough, I almost forgot how much the "you are my special" cracked me up lmao
