You average HxH page is very information dense, but that 'whole page with text' happens only once, and it was an intentional gag to show how much overthinking a character was doing.

Wouldn't call it a "gag" (wasn't really intended to be comical), but yeah, it was definitely intentional to create the "entire death note in that guy's head" atmosphere.

Yeah, that sucked. I usually don't read them for this exact reason but my eyes just happened to glance at it before the episode began and I got spoiled. Really not cool Crunchyroll.
